Asian Children's Holidays Party
Time certainly flies when you're having fun!! The party was filled with children laughing and parents smiling. There were over 50 volunteers to make sure everything ran smoothly. Thank you to the volunteers, which includes the Chinese School, Loyola Asian Student Organization, AASIA, the Liu Institute International , students from McMain high school, New Orleans Circus Art, John Hoa for donating the lanterns and many wonderful APAS members!!! APAS would also like to thank the Jazz and Heritage Foundation for partially funding the event in making it possible to include the Loy Kratong (Floating Lotus) festival into the day. Jenjira and Tania (her daughter) are much appreciated for showing the children how to make the floating lotus.
We had 32 families attended the event that totaled over 80 kids and grownups. The weather was perfect and the performances were wonderful as you'll see in the pictures via the links below. We walked from the Danna Center to a fountain at Audubon park on the St. Charles side where the children got to make a wish and release their Kra tongs in the water. Please enjoy the pictures and we hope you can join us next year!!!
